Brightlark

Overview

Brightlark is a Denver-based HubSpot consultancy that works only with professional services organizations, including law practices, accounting firms, consulting groups and financial advisory practices. It does not sell generic CRM setups. Instead, it reworks a client's existing HubSpot environment so that marketing, sales and client delivery share one consistent system. The company calls its central idea the Frictionless Firm.

The premise is that a growing practice should be able to take on more clients without piling unbilled coordination and cleanup onto its staff.

The firm calls the problem it solves the Capacity Trap. As a practice wins more business, administrative effort, handoffs and follow-up multiply faster than its tools can absorb them. Brightlark sees the usual symptoms as signs of deeper structural issues. An untidy pipeline, unreliable dashboards, improvised onboarding and weak user adoption usually trace back to things like vague deal stages or poorly organized data. For that reason its engagements open with diagnosis before any building work begins.

How engagements work

Clients typically progress through four steps:

  • Friction Scorecard: a free self-assessment that takes about five minutes. It rates a HubSpot setup across six areas: CRM structure, the handoff from marketing to sales, the handoff from sales to service, automated workflows, visibility through reporting, and administrative burden along with data hygiene.
  • Frictionless Firm Roadmap: a review of the client's HubSpot portal. It pinpoints the costliest problems and produces an ordered plan of fixes across marketing, sales and service.
  • Roadmap Implementation: targeted workstreams delivered in the sequence the roadmap recommends. Clients may also carry out the fixes with their own staff.
  • Retainer and optimization: continuing support that keeps data, workflows, reports and handoffs current as the firm evolves.

Implementation work falls into three focus areas.

  • Frictionless Marketing addresses lead capture. This includes enriching form submissions with qualification details, repairing source attribution, segmenting inquiries by fit and urgency, and tying campaign activity to qualified pipeline.
  • Frictionless Sales targets deal management. It aligns pipeline stages with how clients actually buy, centralizes discovery notes, clarifies where proposals stand and makes forecasts dependable.
  • Frictionless Service covers the post-sale transition. It shows delivery teams what was sold, standardizes onboarding tasks and replaces instinct with tracked client health.

The company also lists demand generation among its offerings.

Background and team

Matt Walde started Brightlark in Omaha in 2004 as a digital marketing shop. It focused on search, content and paid media for smaller firms. Around 2012 its work broadened into attribution, conversion paths, lead generation and sales follow-up. In 2013 it became Denver's first HubSpot partner and the second statewide. The company says it has served more than 500 businesses. It now operates as a HubSpot Solutions Partner from its Denver office.

Walde is based in Denver and has over two decades of background in HubSpot implementation, revenue systems design, sales operations and digital marketing. He has completed hundreds of engagements for professional services clients and leads a team of HubSpot specialists and operations consultants.

Brightlark staffs projects with experienced practitioners rather than passing them to junior staff, and it avoids templated builds. First-time clients receive a refund if they report within 30 days that the engagement is not a good fit.

The firm's guiding principles hold that handoffs should be deliberately designed, that reports must rest on clean data, and that automation should simplify work rather than bury complexity.
