About David Evans

Evans has practiced as a CPA for more than a quarter century. The firm says he cleared every section of the CPA examination on his first try, with results placing him in the top 5 percent nationwide. His career began at Arkansas Western Gas. In 1995 he moved into public accounting at Scarbrough & Murtishaw in Fayetteville, Arkansas, gaining experience in tax, auditing and compilation and becoming the firm's lead auditor before departing in 1997.

That year he took a managing CPA role at Day, McGuire and Keels in Siloam Springs, where he developed strong skills in corporate, partnership and individual taxation. In 2000 he bought the firm's Siloam Springs office and combined it with Michael Houston's practice, forming Houston, Evans and Company CPA's.

As an owner there, he became a licensed Personal Financial Specialist and Certified Financial Planner and enlarged the firm's offerings in advanced tax, estate and financial planning. He sold his interest in 2005 and launched an independent firm in Grove, then acquired Gayle Edmondson's practice in 2008, giving him offices in both Grove and Miami.

Evans grew up in Siloam Springs and graduated from John Brown University in 1993. He and his family have lived in Grove since 2004 and take an active part in their church and community. Beyond his CPA and CFP credentials, he is a Registered Investment Advisor and a Certified Wealth Preservation Planner, and he specializes in complex individual, business and trust tax work along with financial and estate planning.
